Kelowna firefighters battle mobile home blaze

KELOWNA – Yesterday evening, firefighters battled a house fire in a Lakeshore Road mobile home park.

All occupants of the mobile home got out safely before crews arrived, and there were no reported injuries in a release issued today by Scott Clarke of the Kelowna Fire Department.

Clarke says at approximately 9:30 p.m. last night, Oct. 9, fire rescue received several 911 emergency calls from the Shasta Mobile Home park.

The first officer on the scene witnessed the mobile home engulfed in flames. At that point, the fire was spreading to a vehicle in front of the home.

Firefighters acted fast to extinguish the fire.

Clarke says the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Fifteen firefighters, three engines, one rescue truck, a water tender and a command vehicle responded to the call.
