WEST KELOWNA – A young man resisted rescue after his boat collided with the William R. Bennett Bridge Sunday evening.
The 21-year-old Kelowna man who is facing potential impaired charges crashed into the bridge on the northwest side on Okanagan Lake. The man appeared to have a head injury but fought with those attempting to rescue him. Paramedics required the help of Mounties in transporting the man to hospital.
Charges have not yet been laid, but those being considered include impaired operation of a vessel and uttering threats. The investigation is ongoing.
