ARLINGTON, Texas – The Rangers have acquired outfielder/infielder Patrick Kivlehan (KIV-luh-hann) as the player to be named in a trade last month with AL West rival Seattle.
Texas acquired Kivlehan on Wednesday, completing the Nov. 16 trade in which the Rangers also obtained right-hander Tom Wilhelmsen and outfielder James Jones for outfielder Leonys Martin and right-handed pitcher Anthony Bass.
Kivlehan hit .256 with 25 doubles, 22 home runs, and 73 RBI in 123 games with Triple-A Tacoma last season. Kivlehan played different positions for Tacoma — first base, third base, and all three outfield spots.
He was Seattle’s fourth-round pick in the 2012 amateur draft out of Rutgers. He has not played in a major league game.
