Woman approached, pushed to the ground by lone man in North Okanagan

VERNON – Police are investigating what they believe to be a sexually motivated assault in Coldstream over the weekend.

Police were called around 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, for a report of an assault in the 9500 block of Bessette Avenue.

“A female victim advised investigators that she was approached by a lone male and forced to the ground,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in a media release.

The woman was physically uninjured, Moskaluk says.

Based on the victim’s account of what happened, police are investigating the case as a sexually motivated assault.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium, athletic build, wearing a dark bandana. No other information was provided.

Police are asking anyone who may have information related to the incident to contact the Vernon North-Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
