Pop star Mariah Carey “doing well” after hospitalization for severe flu

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Pop star Mariah Carey is recovering after being hospitalized with a severe case of the flu.

The singer was taken to a hospital on Wednesday morning, according to a report on People.com.

A representative for Carey said in a statement Thursday that the singer had been feeling under the weather with the flu for the past few days and that she is doing well now. The statement said Carey, who is doing a series of Christmas shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York, will be performing as scheduled. Her next show is set for Tuesday.
