The Kelowna Rockets have traded forward Tanner Wishnowski to the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for 16-year-old forward Colum McGauley, currently playing Junior B with his hometown Nelson Leafs.
“We have some extra forwards right now and we felt this was a good move for our hockey club, to be able to acquire a high-end player that we think will be very good fit for our team,” said Rockets President and GM Bruce Hamilton. “We’d like to thank Tanner for his efforts with our organization and wish him well with Spokane.”
Wishnowski is in his third season with the Rockets. He has played in a total of 65 games for the organization, scoring nine goals and adding seven assists over that time.
A native of Nelson, McGauley played midget AAA with the Notre Dame Hounds last season, putting up 18 points in 39 games as a 15-year-old. In six games so far this season with the Nelson Leafs, he has two goals and two assists.
