The Saskatchewan Roughriders may have found their new general manager and head coach.
Multiple media reports say that Saskatchewan has hired Chris Jones for both positions.
Jones, 48, led the Edmonton Eskimos this season to a 14-4 record and their first Grey Cup victory in a decade — just two years after taking over a club that was in the West Division basement.
Jones, who entered the CFL in 2002 as a defensive line coach with the Montreal Alouettes, went 26-10 in two season with Edmonton.
Saskatchewan spent half of last season with interim tags on both its head coach and GM after the organization fired coach Corey Chamblin and GM Brendan Taman in September. The Riders opened their season under Chamblin and Taman with an 0-9 record. They finished last in the league at 3-15.
Bob Dyce had been serving as interim head coach of Saskatchewan while Jeremy O’Day had taken on GM duties.
