Former USC gynecologist has license suspended

LOS ANGELES – Records show a former University of Southern California gynecologist facing claims of misconduct during examinations of students has had his medical license temporarily suspended.

Medical Board of California documents signed by an administrative law judge on Monday show Dr. George Tyndall agreed to the suspension that will remain in place until the board makes a final decision on the status of his license.

Tyndall faces numerous claims he improperly touched and photographed women during exams and made comments about their bodies.

Tyndall has not been charged with a crime. He has denied wrongdoing and USC officials have denied any coverup.

The U.S. Department of Education is investigating whether USC concealed sexual harassment allegations against Tyndall, who retired in 2017 after nearly three decades as a staff gynecologist.
