Crews respond to fire at Kelowna casino

KELOWNA – This morning, firefighters responded to a minor fire at Chances on Springfield Road.

According to a release issued by Dennis Miller of the Kelowna Fire Department, crews received a report of a fire in a wall at approximately 8:47 a.m. today.

The captain of the attack team says the fire was minor in nature, under control and was limited to one electrical outlet in the kitchen area.

"Security and staff at Chances did a great job evacuating the building for the safety of everyone," Miller says in the release.

Chances was re-opened at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Miller says the B.C. Safety Authority will be called in to investigate.
