KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-1 on Saturday night in Seattle, the team’s third straight victory.
Rookie forward Kyle Topping recorded a hat trick, the first three goals of his WHL career, to lead the offense in the win, while Michael Herringer earned the victory, giving up the only goal with under a minute to play in the third.
Rockets rookie Jack Cowell also scored his first WHL goal in the win while Kole Lind added his fifth of the season.
The win improved the Rockets record to 6-7-0-0 on the season.
The game was scoreless after one before the Rockets scored twice in the second and added three more in the third to take a stranglehold on the game.
Kelowna now returns home to Prospera Place for a Wednesday night tilt against WHL BC Division rival Victoria.
Tickets are available for the game through www.selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
