Strippers have to jump through hoops before dancing on stage
PENTICTON – Dancers will be able to take off their clothes again at The Opal Nite Club once the operators amend their business license.
The club already had an exotic dance show on Friday and Saturday but several people complained. Penticton development director Anthony Haddad said staff have already spoken with club offiicals. Haddad said the club's owners plan on amending their business license to include adult entertainment and have already visited City Hall to get the ball rolling.
While amending a license is free of charge and only takes a week, Haddad said certain club employees will need criminal record checks before the club has adult scaled events again. These checks can be time consuming.
Haddad learned about the license issue when the city received emails from people complaining about Friday's and Saturday's exotic dance show. He looked into the matter and found adult entertainment was not part of the club's business license.
