Rutland residents check your vehicles for break ins: Police might have your stuff after arresting pair

KELOWNA – A man and a woman from Kelowna were arrested early this morning after police were called to a theft from a vehicle that was in progress.

Shortly before 6 a.m. Oct. 24 a Rutland resident saw a man with a flashlight inside a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Clarissa Road.

Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release police arrived on scene shortly after the call was received and two people were taken into custody.

“The suspects were found in possession of several items police believe to be stolen from various vehicles parked in the area,” he says. “RCMP continue their efforts to identify the rightful owners and return the recovered stolen property.”

Residents in the area are asked to check their vehicles for any signs of entry or theft and to call RCMP if a crime is suspected.

A 24-year-old Kelowna man and a 29-year-old Kelowna woman were taken into custody and may face charges.

Their identities and charges were not included in the media release.
