Canada’s Del Bosco, Sweden’s Holmlund win ski cross World Cup at Val Thorens

VAL THORENS, France – Christopher Del Bosco of Canada stayed perfect this season when he won the second ski cross World Cup on Friday.

Del Bosco, who also won the World Cup opening race, beat world champion Filip Flisar of Slovenia in the men’s final in the French Alps to secure a ninth career win.

Canadian Brady Leman , who finished runner-up to Del Bosco last week in Austria, placed third.

On a good day for Sweden, Olympic bronze medallist Anna Holmlund won the women’s race ahead of teammate Sandra Naeslund.

Olympic champion Marielle Thompson, who injured her knee at the world championships in Austria in January, followed up her victory last week with a fourth-place finish behind Ophelie David of France.

Holmlund won the discipline title last season.
