Fleury, from Sudbury, Ont., downed Edmonton’s Kelsey Roque 4-3 after scoring a single in the final end and will now play Winnipeg’s Jennifer Jones.
Carey and her Calgary foursome toppled Sweden’s Margaretha Sigfridsson 6-2 and will face Switzerland’s Alina Paetz while Russia’s Sidorova will meet Ottawa’s Rachel Homan after beating Switzerland’s Silvana Tirinzoni 6-1.
Edmonton’s Val Sweeting squares off against Scotland’s Eve Muirhead in the fourth women’s quarter-finals matchup.
On the men’s side, Scotland’s David Murdoch defeated Edmonton’s Brendan Bottcher 6-5 with a deuce in the eighth end, and Calgary’s Kevin Koe downed Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., 5-3 in the other evening draw.
The men will have one more draw Saturday morning and must wait for the remainder of the field to finish the triple-knockout tournament format before knowing which rinks will play in the quarters.
