Lake Country car crash; humans and dachshund avoid serious injuries

LAKE COUNTRY – The people and dog involved in a two car crash on Highway 97 in Oyama escaped without serious injuries Monday morning.

The humans were treated at the scene by B.C. Ambulance paramedics.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. at Highway 97 and Oceola Road near Tim Horton’s and disrupted traffic for a short time.

“It looks like a Trans Am lost control, went over the median and hit an oncoming Dodge pick-up truck,” RCMP Const. Chris Joy said at the scene.

A dachshund riding in one of the vehicles was comforted by his owner following the crash.

Both vehicles were badly damaged but the Trans AM got the worst of the collision.
