Vancouver man accused of luring, sexual offences involving child of a co-worker

WEST VANCOUVER, B.C. – West Vancouver police have arrested a Vancouver man on allegations that he tried to sexually lure a co-worker’s child.

Police say their investigation was prompted after a mother took her child to a work event where she introduced the child to her colleagues.

Without the woman’s consent, police say a co-worker asked for the child’s cell phone number and the mother later found a text message on that phone from her co-worker.

She contacted police, who began a luring investigation with the help of the Vancouver Police Department’s Counter-Exploitation Unit.

William Kai King Lee has been charged with luring, invitation to sexual touching, agreement to commit a sexual offence against a child and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

Lee appeared in court on Dec. 17 and was released on numerous bail conditions.
