Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up four cents, or 3.08 per cent, to $1.34 on 3.7 million shares. Bombardier Inc. says China Express Airlines has placed a firm order for 10 additional CRJ900 regional jets. It also announced that Ryukyu Air Commuter Co. Ltd of Okinawa, part of the Japan Airlines group, has ordered five combi Q400s, the first ever Bombardier Q400 turboprop plane adapted to carry cargo as well as passengers.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Up 36 cents, or 8.74 per cent, to $4.48 on 3.3 million shares.

Data Group Ltd. (TSX:DGI). Business services. Up half-a-cent, or 33.33 per cent, to two cents on 3.2 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Up 32 cents, or 4.77 per cent, to $7.03 on 3.1 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down four cents, or 1.57 per cent, to $2.51 on 2.6 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Down two cents, or 0.38 per cent, to $5.18 on 2.4 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Down 13 cents, or one per cent, to $12.84 on 1.4 million shares. BlackBerry says it will remain operating in Pakistan after that country’s government backed off on demands for access to the company’s servers.
