Joshua Henry to play Aaron Burr in ‘Hamilton’ in Chicago

NEW YORK – Tony Award-nominee Joshua Henry has been named to play Aaron Burr in the Chicago production of “Hamilton” this fall.

Henry, who has nominations for “The Scottsboro Boys” and “Violet,” will join Broadway veterans Miguel Cervantes as Alexander Hamilton, Karen Olivo as Angelica Schuyler, and Alexander Gemignani as King George III.

The rest of the cast there will include Ari Afsar as Eliza Hamilton, Chris Lee as Lafayette/Jefferson, Wallace Smith as Hercules Mulligan and James Madison, and Samantha Marie Ware as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds.

“Hamilton” won 11 Tony Awards. In addition to the Chicago production, a touring production begins a 21-week run in San Francisco in 2017 before moving to Los Angeles. A London production is slated for 2017.
