Laval Rocket earn split in two-game series with Utica Comets

LAVAL, Que. – Jake Evans scored 28 seconds into overtime to give the Laval Rocket a 2-1 win over the visiting Utica Comets in AHL action on Saturday.

Nikita Jevpalovs also scored for Laval, while Cam Darcy had the lone Utica goal.

Rocket goaltender Michael McNiven made 19 saves for the win. Ivan Kulbakov stopped 33 shots in a losing cause for Utica.

The teams split a two-game series in Laval after Utica won 3-1 on Friday night.

The Rocket (4-7-1) and Comets (5-6-1) meet again on Wednesday in Utica, N.Y.
