Motorist trapped in Highway 3A rollover near Kaleden
PENTICTON – A woman was taken to hospital after rolling her vehicle on Highway 3A in the South Okanagan yesterday.
Kaleden fire chief Darlene Bailey says firefighters freed a woman trapped after her vehicle rolled yesterday at about 6:45 a.m., Nov. 16. Crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle to extricate the woman, who was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Bailey says the woman was travelling northbound and is believed to have lost control on black ice, crossed the road and rolled in the ditch.
The crash occurred near Bobcat Road on Highway 3A approximately nine kilometres from the junction of Highway 97.
Bailey says road conditions appeared to be fine until reaching the vicinity of the incident, where rescue personnel noticed slippery conditions.
