Kamloops carjacker pepper sprays three, escapes with car

KAMLOOPS – Police are searching for the man responsible for pepper spraying three people and stealing a car yesterday evening.

Last night, Nov. 19, at about 10:10 p.m., a couple met a man who was interested in buying their car in a parking lot at 1210 Summit Dr, Cpl. Cheryl Bush says in a media release.

Bush says the man who owned the car was showing the perspective buyer the vehicle while his wife was talking with a friend.

Suddenly, the man interested in the car pepper sprayed all three of them, stole it and fled the scene.

According to Bush, the car is a 2007 Hundai Santa Fe with B.C. license plate 958ATP.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who sees this vehicle to contact them immediately.
