Crash closes Trans Canada near Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM – A collision has closed the Trans Canada Highway in both directions near Salmon Arm this afternoon.

There are reports a semi and car collided in Blind Bay at about 1:15 p.m., Nov. 30, and at least one person has been injured.

Sgt. Scott West with Salmon Arm RCMP confirms there was a crash and can only say emegerncy crews are on the scene.

Drive B.C. says Highway 1 is closed about 25 kilometres west of Salmon Arm until further notice. There is no estimated time of reopening.

Detours are available via Highway 97, Highway 97A or Highway 97B.
