Woman who received stolen Paris Hilton jacket sentenced to probation and community service
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A judge has sentenced a woman who pleaded no contest to receiving a jacket stolen from Paris Hilton to three years of supervised probation.
Courtney Leigh Ames is one of a group of young people dubbed the “Bling Ring” for targeting the homes of celebrities such as Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and others.
Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler sentenced Ames on Friday. She is also required to perform 60 days of community service.
Only the person accused of being the mastermind of the group, Nicholas Prugo, is still awaiting sentencing.
Ames pleaded no contest to receiving Hilton’s jacket in December and felony burglary and other charges were dropped.
Hilton is not seeking restitution.
Authorities say the group stole more than $3 million in high-end jewelry, clothing and other items.
