Rockets lose OT tilt 2-1 to Chiefs

KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets fell 2-1 in overtime to the Spokane Chiefs on Friday night.

It was a low scoring defensive affair in Spokane. The Rockets outshot the Chiefs 37-21 but Hudson Elynuik ended the game scoring with 28 seconds remaining in the extra frame.

The Rockets lone goal was scored by Kole Lind(15), who extends his goal streak to 6 games, which equaled the longest goal streak in the WHL this season.

Newly acquired James Hilsendager suited up for his first game in a Rockets jersey. He finished with an even rating.

Michael Herringer drops to 13-8-1-0 on the season and the Rockets fall to 15-11-1-0 suffering their first overtime loss of the season.

The Rockets are back at it tomorrow night when they host the Brandon Wheat Kings. Fans are asked to bring a Teddy Bear to toss after the first Rockets goal tomorrow night as it’s the 4th annual Teddy Bear Toss.

The Rockets next home game following Saturday will be Wednesday December 7th for their last home game before Christmas.
