
Former Ticats GM O’Billovich announces retirement after 50-year career in CFL
HAMILTON – Bob O’Billovich is announcing his retirement after a 50-year run in the CFL as a player, coach and executive.
He most recently served as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ vice-president of football operations.
His CFL career began in 1963 when he signed with the Ottawa Rough Riders.
O’Billovich joined the coaching ranks in 1974 as a guest coach with the Rough Riders and eventually became an assistant coach in 1976.
He also worked in Toronto, B.C., Saskatchewan, Calgary.
O’Billovich was named general manager of the Ticats in 2007 and was promoted to vice-president of football operations last year.
