Kelowna man charged with attempted murder for alleged stabbing on the weekend

KELOWNA – A local man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing someone repeatedly with a knife in Kelowna over the weekend.

Court records show Ken Maurice Butler, 31, was arrested Dec. 4 in Kelowna and charged with the attempted murder of Nevada Vance, 45.

The court document does not say where or what time the alleged crime took place but does say Butler is accused of “repeatedly stabbing” Vance with a knife.

Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says the attack may have been in retaliation to an assault on a woman that allegedly took place in West Kelowna earlier in the evening.

Butler is being held in custody ahead of a bail hearing this week.

He has no criminal record in B.C.
