Rapper Young Dro arrested on a drug charge in Atlanta

ATLANTA – Police say rapper Young Dro has been arrested on a drug charge at Atlanta’s international airport.

Clayton County Police Department spokeswoman Charlene Watson-Fraser says Young Dro was arrested Thursday afternoon at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Fraser says officers found a pill and a half of Xanax during a search after learning the 37-year-old rapper was wanted for a traffic offence. It’s illegal to possess Xanax without a prescription.

Dro’s real name is D’Juan Montreal Hart.

Police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury says Hart has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

In March, Hart was arrested on a theft charge in DeKalb County.

The rapper is known for several of his street anthems including, “We in Da City,” ”Shoulder Lean” and “FDB.” Last year, he released his fourth album, “Da Reality Show,” through T.I.’s label Grand Hustle Records.
