KELOWNA – As the victim of a downtown stabbing over the weekend recovers, police are calling for possible witnesses to the alleged attempted murder.

Ken Butler, 31, was arrested on Water Street after another man showed up at a downtown gas station with multiple stab wounds.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says the investigation is ongoing but they believe the stabbing may have been “in retaliation to an assault on a women that allegedly took place earlier that evening in West Kelowna.”

It happened between 11 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 in the 400 block of Leon Avenue.

Butler is being held in custody and according to court documents is charged with attempted murder.
