Receiver Duron Carter returns to Alouettes on one-year deal after stint in NFL

MONTREAL – Duron Carter is back with the Montreal Alouettes.

The speedy receiver signed a one-year deal with the CFL club Monday after spending last season on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice roster.

Carter, 24, registered 75 catches for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games in 2014 with Montreal. He was named a CFL all-star that season.

“We welcome Duron back to the Alouettes family,” general manager and head coach Jim Popp said in a statement. “His ability to make big plays will add unlimited potential to our new revamped offence.”

The six-foot-five, 205-pound Carter has 124 receptions for 1,939 yards and 12 TDs in two seasons with the Alouettes.

Carter is the son of Cris Carter, the former longtime receiver with the Minnesota Vikings who is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
