Alt rock band Guster performs live in Pittsburgh alleyway

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Alternative rock band Guster is getting attention on social media after members performed an impromptu alleyway performance in Pittsburgh.

The Boston-based band four-piece was set to play a Philadelphia show on Saturday, but it was postponed due to the snowstorm, leaving the group stuck in Pittsburgh.

The band tweeted that they planned to play a short set in front of a North Side dumpster at 2 p.m. Saturday and gave a live performance.

Several people showed up for the 15-minute jam session. The band posted the video on its Facebook page. It had gotten more than 170,000 views by Monday evening.

Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto invited the group to return and perform a more traditional show in the future.

The band released their seventh studio album, “Evermotion,” last year.
