Ryerson Rams men’s basketball earns the first No. 1 ranking in school history
TORONTO – The Ryerson Rams are finally No. 1.
Ryerson’s men’s basketball team top the Canadian university rankings this week, marking the first time any Rams team in any sport has occupied the No. 1 spot.
The Rams beat a couple of powerhouses at home last weekend, topping Ottawa 87-80 and Carleton 79-61.
Ottawa and Carleton had previously held the No. 1 and 2 spots.
The Rams are the first team since Windsor in November in 2012 — and only the second team ever since February of 2002 — to sweep a doubleheader against the Gee-Gees and Ravens.
Ottawa dropped to No. 2 on the ranking ahead No. 3 Carleton.
