Police investigate death at Vernon business
VERNON – A man sustained fatal injuries while working on a vehicle at a Vernon business today.
Police were called to a business on 34 Street in Vernon today, Dec. 9, just before noon, according to a media release from the RCMP.
“An adult male worker at the business suffered fatal injuries while working on a vehicle,” Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says.
Police did not release the name of the business, or any other details.
“The initial investigation is still ongoing,” Noseworthy says.
Trish Knight Chernecki, spokesperson for WorkSafe B.C., says they have two officers at the scene. She says WorkSafe B.C. was contacted by the RCMP at 12:34 p.m. today and notified that a four by four vehicle slid off a hoist, pinning a worker underneath.
