VERNON – Yesterday evening a serious two vehicle collision prompted the closure of Highway 97A.

At 7 p.m. on Dec. 10, RCMP and North Okanagan Traffic Services were on scene investigating the crash near Powerhouse Road in Armstrong, Cpl. Spencer Hornoi says in a media release.

Hornoi says the crash caused the closure of the highway in both directions.

According to DriveBC, the road was closed around 4:15 p.m. and was reopened at approximately 9:50 p.m.

Traffic was diverted around Armstrong via Pleasant Valley Road.

RCMP did not release any information on injuries.
