No charges will proceed in 2008 slaying on South Okanagan pot farm
KELOWNA, B.C. – The final charges have now been stayed in connection with a slaying more than four years ago in the South Okanagan.
Crown lawyers confirm charges of robbery and obstruction of justice have been dropped against Gerlinde (gur-LINDA’) Klumpp, who was 49-years-old when she was charged in December 2011.
The charges came more than three years after 50-year-old Timothy Niven Tyler was shot to death on his Beaverdell property, about 90 kilometres southeast of Kelowna in September 2008.
A second degree murder charge was laid against Geoffrey Moore, at the same time Klumpp was charged, but Moore died of cancer last year before his trial could begin.
During the investigation of Tyler’s death, police found six marijuana grow sites, valued at about $1-million, on his property.
A sawed-off shotgun was used to kill Tyler, and officers believe he was gunned down while protecting his crop from robbers. (CKFR)
