Kamloops helps stuff a dozen police cruisers for Christmas Amalgamated

KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops RCMP 'Stuff the Cruiser' event this weekend was a big success as the people of Kamloops came together to help make Christmas a little brighter for families in need.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says 12 police cruisers were stuffed full of toys and other items on Saturday, Dec. 10. She says $1,700 in cash and gift cards were collected.

"Kamloops RCMP would like to thank B.C. Sheriff Services, the RCMP Auxiliary Constable program, RCMP Victim Services, Wishing Well Parties and Events, Madison Olds and The Safety Bear for helping, as well as Toys R Us and Walmart for their support," Shelkie says in a media release.

All items and cash will go to Christmas Amalgamated to help those in need.

Christmas Amalgamated helps 2,000 families in need every year. Cst. Natalie Anfield says last year 13 cruisers were stuffed and around $2,000 was raised.

This was the first year B.C. Sheriff Services and RCMP Victim Services volunteered and Anfield says she's hoping for more volunteers next year.
