SURREY, B.C. – RCMP in Surrey B.C., are looking for a suspect after one of their vehicles was stolen during a traffic stop late Friday night.
Police say it began around 11:30 p.m. when an officer tried to pull over an erratic driver.
They say the vehicle evaded police until it pulled into an underground parkade where it was contained.
Police say the two occupants of the vehicle were initially co-operative, but then suddenly fled on foot with the officer in pursuit.
They say while the officer was chasing one suspect, the other one stole the Mountie’s vehicle and crashed it through a gate before abandoning it several hundred metres away on Whalley Blvd.
Police say one suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant, however, the other remains at large.
