TORONTO – Forward Josh Leivo was loaned by the Toronto Maple Leafs to the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies on Thursday.
Leivo, 22, has skated in four games with the Maple Leafs so far this season with no points and two penalty minutes.
He has 11 goals and 19 assists in 35 games with the Marlies and was named an AHL all-star earlier this month.
Leivo was originally selected by Toronto in the third round (86th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
The Maple Leafs return to action after the NHL all-star break when they travel to Boston on Feb. 2. The AHL all-star game is on Feb. 1 in Syracuse, N.Y.
