NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Foundation for AIDS Research is recognizing film producer Harvey Weinstein at its annual New York Fashion Week gala.

The organization, known as amfAR, announced Thursday that Weinstein will be the guest of honour at a black-tie dinner on Feb. 10, describing the Oscar winner as a “longtime amfAR supporter and friend.”

The amfAR New York Fashion Week gala has kicked off fashion week for 17 years and has helped raise millions of dollars for AIDS research. Previous honorees include Bill Clinton, Elizabeth Taylor, Clive Davis, Whoopi Goldberg and Quincy Jones.
