OTTAWA – 4,000: Number of guests who RSVP’d to the invitation to this year’s July 4 party at the official residence of the U.S. ambassador to Canada.

1908: the year Lornado, the residence, was built.

1935: year the U.S. government purchased it to serve as the official residence.

100-plus: the number of volunteers from the U.S. embassy and elsewhere who help make the party happen.
