TORONTO – Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey has been named the NBA Eastern Conference coach of the month.
The Raptors finished January with a 12-2 record, including a franchise-best 11-game winning streak to close out the month.
Toronto held opponents to an average of 97.4 points over the month, the third-lowest total in the league. They were third in the conference offensively with an average of 105.6 points.
During the 11-game winning streak the Raptors defeated five opponents with winning records and won by an average margin of plus-11.7 points.
Casey joined the Raptors as head coach June 21, 2011.
He holds the franchise record for coaching victories with 186 and has a .518 (186-173) winning percentage in five seasons with Toronto.
Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers was named Western Conference coach of the month.
