Central Okanagan french immersion review

At the Board of Education Public Meeting held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, the Board of Education agreed that effective September 2017, students currently enrolled in Grade 6 French Immersion at E´cole Glenmore Elementary and E´cole Peter Greer Elementary will transfer to a new Grade 7 French Immersion program at Dr. Knox Middle School.

The Board of Education also agreed that in September 2017 students currently registered in the Grade 6 English program at A.S. Matheson Elementary School will move on to the Grade 7 English program at KLO Middle School.

These decisions follow a comprehensive review of the School District’s French Immersion program. It is expected that other changes will be considered in the future in order to bring long-term stability to French Immersion programs and schools throughout the District.
