Therrien: No change in timeline for Price return despite video showing setback

MONTREAL – Footage of injured goalie Carey Price grimacing while skating had fans of the slumping Montreal Canadiens on edge Wednesday.

The video from the RDS network showed Price favouring his right leg while skating in a track suit with a team athletic therapist, which would suggest a setback in his recovery.

However, after the Canadiens 4-2 loss to Buffalo on Wednesday night, coach Michel Therrien said there was no change in Price’s time line.

The Canadiens have been in a tailspin since their star goaltender suffered a lower body injury Nov. 25, dropping from first place overall in the NHL to out of a playoff spot.

On Jan. 21, general manager Marc Bergevin said Price would be out another three or four weeks, which would put his return at late February. He said the team would “have to find a way to win without Carey Price.”

Since then, they have an overtime win and four losses.
