Mardi Gras enters its last big weekend in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – The Carnival season enters its last big weekend of parades and galas in New Orleans before ending on Fat Tuesday.

The super Krewe of Endymion’s parade starts late Saturday afternoon near City Park and winds its way to Canal Street and ends inside the Louisiana Superdome, where the 2016 Endymion Extravaganza will be underway. Pitbull and Steven Tyler will be on stage to provide the entertainment.

Mardi Gras historian Arthur Hardy says Endymion parade will consist of 36 float and 3,100 riders.

On Sunday, Bacchus rolls on the tradition St. Charles Avenue route.

The super krewe captain, Clark Brennan, says the parade will have 31 floats and 1,400 riders.
