SEPT-ÎLES, Que. – Ann-Sophie Bettez had the shootout winner as the Montreal Force edged the Connecticut Whale 4-3 on Saturday in Premier Hockey Federation action.
Catherine Daoust scored with 2:27 left in the third period to force the extra time for Montreal (1-2). Kristina Shanahan and Christine Deaudelin also had goals as the Force rallied from a 2-0 deficit.
Tricia Deguire made 16 saves and turned away all three skaters she faced in the shootout for the win.
Kennedy Marchment had a goal and an assist for Connecticut (0-3), while Janka Hlinka and Taylor Girard also found the back of the net.
Goaltender Meeri Raisanen stopped 24 shots and 2 of 3 skaters in the shootout for the Whale.
