NEW YORK, N.Y. – The NHL has suspended Winnipeg Jets forward Drew Stafford for one game for high-sticking Colorado Avalanche defenceman Nick Holden.
The incident occurred at 15:15 of the second period of Winnipeg’s 4-2 win in Denver on Saturday.
Stafford was assessed a double-minor penalty for high-sticking.
He will forfeit US$23,387.10 in salary and will miss Winnipeg’s game Tuesday night in St. Louis.
He is eligible to return when Winnipeg hosts Boston on Thursday.
