TORONTO – Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara are getting a special award from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television.
The veteran comics will receive the Academy Legacy Award for “unflagging dedication to bringing international acclaim to Canadian talent in film, television or digital media.”
The two “SCTV” alum currently star in the CBC-TV sitcom “Schitt’s Creek.”
They play a wealthy couple forced to live in a small-town motel when their fortune collapses.
Academy chair Martin Katz says Levy and O’Hara have played together so often and so well that they thought “it only fitting to honour them together.”
The award will be presented at a red-carpet event Feb. 25 in Los Angeles to celebrate excellence in Canadian film, television and digital media.
