Teenage hockey player charged with assault over on-ice incident: Ottawa police

OTTAWA – Ottawa police say a teenaged hockey player is facing charges arising from an on-ice incident last November.

A police spokesman says the incident occurred Nov. 8, 2015 during a game in Stittsville, Ont., and was reported to police the next month.

Const. Charles Benoit says the injured player was taken to hospital for treatment.

Benoit says charges of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm were laid on Jan. 25.

Benoit says he can’t give other details of the incident because the case is before the courts and both of the players involved are under 18.
