Chilly weather continues in the Okanagan this week

OKANAGAN – The New Year is starting off sunny but cold in the Okanagan.

Environment Canada is calling for a sunny day today, Jan. 3, in the valley with highs around -10 Celsius in Vernon and Kelowna, and -7 in Penticton. The forecast calls for a few clouds overnight in the North and Central Okanagan with a low of -19, but with the 15 kilometre per hour wind, the windchild will be -25 C. In the South Okanagan overnight, cloudy periods and a low of -12 C.

The sunshine continues tomorrow with a highs around -10 C. It will be cloudy overnight on Wednesday with a low of -12 C.

The forecast calls for a cloudy day on Thursday with a high of -9 C. There is a chance of flurries overnight with a low of -10 C.

It warms up a bit on Friday, but it will still be colder than usual at this time of year. We are expecting clouds with a high of -6 C on Friday with a slight chance of flurries overnight and a low of -9 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs around -1 C and lows of -6 C.
