
Christmas Eve crash between semi and transit bus in Salmon Arm
SALMON ARM – A commercial truck driver was handed a ticket in connection with a Christmas Eve collision with a transit bus in Salmon Arm.
RCMP say at about 8:08 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, a Freightliner tractor truck and city bus collided at Highway 1 and Shuswap Street.
"An investigation revealed a transport truck failed to stop at a red light while proceeding through on Highway 1 and struck a local transit bus in the intersection," Staff Sgt. Scott West says in a media release.
The bus driver was sent to hospital with a minor injury.
The truck driver was given a ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act.
