
Brassard appointed assistant chef de mission for 2014 Olympics in Sochi
DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. – Retired freestyle skier Jean-Luc Brassard will serve as Canada’s assistant chef de mission for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
Brassard’s appointment was announced today at a news conference.
The Quebec native won a gold medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway.
Brassard is a four-time Olympian, having also competed in 1992 when freestyle was a demonstration sport as well as in 1998 and 2002.
Brassard will assist former Crazy Canuck skier Steve Podborski in Sochi.
